Bathroom installations tests

Posted by Raymond Zu, on
Is it normal practice to do "installations completion tests" before commissioning bathroom installations works (showers, bath, heating, towel rails, electrical works, etc? ? Is this "must do" task required as per the industry standards? I paid for services and issued additional "good will" bonuses, despite installer has refused my requirement to do tests, just because it takes time. Later, installer did not accept any of reported installation faults.

It’s not a must do and there are no industry standards. That said we check everything as we go to ensure there are no leaks etc. This is good professional practise.

Kakhraman... it is a trade standard to test all completed works once finished. This is just common sense. There are no laws within the industry to test and commission completed plumbing works; just good working practices and a must on every job for peace of mind and professionalism J Ireland Plumber

I always carry out tests after I have installed a bathroom for my own peace of mind so that I’m sure everything is in working order I also run through the operation of all the equipment with my customer it’s much easier than just walking away then getting a call back I don’t think that is a requirement by any industry standard but just common sense
