Stefan arrived promptly at 7.45 am as promised. First he measured the variation in the floor level as well as the roughness of the finished surface. He agreed that a 5mm coating would produce a smooth finish but that I would need twice as much screed to properly level the floor. Apparently he plenty of screed ( Ardex) in his van. He quickly prepared the site by sweeping and vacuuming it clean, then primed the floor and mixed the screed. This was spread evenly and finished inside an hour. Good job done.
So I've been in carpentry since I left school and all other aspects of the building trade. Worked in some beautiful places doing first and second fix carpentry, maintenance and joinery and have good experience in site work private work and construction. Victor is a professional business owner and quoted competitively. His son completed the work - both nice guys. I’m not leaving the full 5 stars because; only part way through the job did Victor bring to my attention that a plumber would be required (at extra cost), the grouting in corners was inconsistent/messy, and after the job was done I had to scrub grout off the tiles, paint, skirting boards, trim and floors, and clean up where prep work had been done outside the house.
