Hi, Jon is absolutely correct. It is much better in the long run to go through the hassle of redoing it from scratch. Trying to fix a bodge can create more problems and might not get the result that you want. It is quite possible that some of the materials could be recovered and reused but it definitely needs to be looked at. Hope this helps. Tom

The floor replacement depends on how much floor is damaged. Also do you mean the actual structural floor ie the joists or just the flooring. It sounds to me that to get the job done correctly seeing as it has been done wrong before, you would be better taking out the suite, a little extra cost but it will give you the best chance of sorting the floor correctly and it wont need doing again, you can then re install the suite safe in the knowledge that its not going to need taking out again. If you just require the floor covering to be levelled you can just apply latex screed over the marine ply this will even out the floor level and you may get this done without removing the suite.
