Replacement flooring in the kitchen.

Posted by Cherry Hylton, on
We have discovered that we have had a leak of water underneath the kitchen sink, dishwasher and washing machine in the kitchen, which has ruined the floor in that area, and which is possibly causing damp to creep into the rest of the kitchen floor in the immediate vicinity. We plan to replace our kitchen, but would need to repair that part of the floor and tile the entire kitchen floor before that. We're not sure what kind of repair or expert would be required for the job, but would appreciate any advice. Thank you. With kind regards.

Hi cherry, It would be advisable to contact a good plumber/ kitchen fitter to asses the situation. Firstly the leak needs to be rectified and then when the kitchen is ripped out asses the water damage. If it’s a wooden floor underneath ( joists ) then depending how long this has been happening, you may have to re- joist the room. If it is concrete underneath then I would let it dry completely before attempting to tile over. I specialise in bespoke kitchen fitting covering all potential areas that need addressing. I am based in Portsmouth and cover a 50 mike radius if this helps. Hope this helps Connor C.K plumbing services
