Hello James, That is dianostic of the radiator being clogged with sludge, it will need flushing or changing. Hope that helps. Matthew

Hi James, your radiator problem is sludge, the cheapest remedy is to remove the rads and flush them through with a hosepipe outside, the alternative is a powerflush but it's very expensive. Hope this helps. Tim.

Hi James, I'd say that is a problem with sludge that has built up over time in your c/h system. A Powerflush using x800 chemicals would bring your system back to life! You will benefit from quieter pump, hotter rads, reduced bills and no real damage in the future. Regards Lloyd

Hello James, Sounds like a problem with sludge. A simple power flush should fix the problem and then put some inhibiter in the system and if possible I would advise you to instal a system filter maybe a sentinel or magna clean. Just fit to the return by the boiler this would defiantly help and reduce the maintenance costs not future.

HI If your system is over five years old a power flush is not recommended, but you can ad a de sludge chemical in to your system, but first read the instructions from the container. Failing that contact rated for quotes Regards Steve

Hi James I'd say this is partially blocked. I'd isolate, drain down the rad and remove it to an outside space and connect a hose to it and flush it. The issue is if this one is like this then the others are likely to be of a similar scenario. The sludge will wreck your pump, heat exchange, diverter valve or zone valve A power flush and chemicals are the right way to go Kr Rob @ rsb and sons

Possible build up of sludge If you found that the radiators in your home were not as warm as they used to be but are still warm around the top and sides but cold in the middle and bottom then you probably have radiator sludge, something which will happen to most central heating systems sooner or later.
