A btu calculator is what you need as otherwise it is just guess work on what size you need and also what type wether it be a single panel, double panel, double convector etc You can get them as a free app on your phone but to be honest the company that did the work should know this?!
Hi Terry & Chris, There are many factors to consider when fitting heating systems. Room size, how many windows ,is it north facing is it a bedroom or living room and is there cavity insulation. All these have an impact on the size of radiator to use not to mention is the boiler big enough to account for the extra BTUs for another radiator. Just check this first there are many btu calculators on the net.
Did they size all the rooms before they started and give you a option for rads ?
A btu calculator should have been used. If not ask why. They should add on 10% in overall btu values. Totally down to installer.
Get back in touch with the installer and ask to have the extra radiator fitted .they should cover the cost due to the fact they should have calculated this in the first place . Correct radiator sizing is important so this is there responsibity .
What's the Question?
Ask your engineers if they carried out a heat calculation before the installation. Factors like room size, insulation type and windows should have been taken into consideration.
