ACORN PLUMBING & HEATING

Hi, in June I had a plumber come out to check for a leak in my bath/shower. He replaced the shower hose and put silicone around the fittings but had to come back as there was still a leak somewhere. He then put sealant on the tiles. I only discovered later how much sealant - it is all over the tiles and grout and of course because the grout was discoloured it is a total mess. Not only that I have had to get a plumber out because the connection that he put the hose on to came loose exposing a broken connection. The repair has cost me over £200. Mohammed A Ditta was the plumber and I would like to know if I am able to recover any of the costs (total £300 including what Mohammed A Ditta charged)

Can I connect copper pipes to new plastic pipes?

Wish to fit a bathroom suite including toilet with macerator in an attic space - there is hot and cold water supply and a waste pipe, is an expert plumber required?

Do we need non-return valves for bath shower mixer tap? And which valves? Cold water very low pressure (tank just above head height) and hot from mains via combi boiler. On both feeds or just hot feed? Could cold pressure be too low to crack valve? Thank you

Pressure keeps dropping on Vaillant boiler and water is coming out of overflow pipe.

I have had a brand new system fitted with new pipework and the system is banging constant. The engineer tried changing radiator valves but still the banging. He seems stuck as to what is causing it. Can I call in a surveyor for the heating system as I am about to lose some tenants.

When will they see sense? You need to listen to you customers and bring back refunds for dud jobs instead of leaving your customers to pick up the bill! Other recent questions show the strength of feeling amongst the trades who use this site.

When will rated people admit that their changes are all about making more money for themselves and nothing at all to do with helping the tradesman. Do they think we are idiots ? I have send 3 emails now and no replys from the customer service people !

Now that the improved leads and loss of report a lead function have been in operation for a few months perhaps Rated would like to survey their customers to ask them what they think of the IMPROVEMENTS! I know how keen they are on sending out these surveys to improve their service and surely it would be a good idea to get the opinion of the end users. I look forward to completing this survey very soon, or will they be too scared to hear what we have to say about their so called improvements!

I have over 10 years experience in plumbing and heating. I was trained for 6 years by an ex British Gas engineer. I'm very confident and good at my job. My current situation is that the chap i worked with has now retired so I'm unemployed. I want to do my plumbing and heating but cant afford to get my qualification and need them to get employed with a plumbing company. My question is, Would a plumbing company take me on without my qualifications.

I have no hot water coming out of taps in fact no water at all

We had our pump replaced. The other one was noisy but our system worked brilliantly. Now we have scalding hot rads and some that are warmish. some rads dont come on and its always different ones. the boiler cuts out if it gets too hot. there is a toilet flushing sound, towards the bolier, when the hot water finishes its timed cycle toothe engineer said there is air in the system and we just have to wait till it works its way out? is he correct. It's a microbore system. It worked great before, now all sorts of problems. im at my wits end

Hi, the plug holes in our upstairs, bath and basin are often smelly, even more so after it has rained. I regularly use a plughole un-blocker but this doesn;t seem to work for long. Any ideas what it could be or how to solve it?
