My bathroom looks great. He came up with solutions to problems along the way. Pretty chuffed with his work actually. He's a great guy from planning to execution. Tidy and kept me updated along the way. What more could you ask for.

Nick and Chow converted an old airing cupboard to an upstairs toilet which also involved laying pipes underground. They consistently turned up on time; were nice to have around; and their workmanship was excellent. There were a couple of small unexpected costs but these were fair and the end price was very reasonable. My only (small) criticism is that they didn't bring enough dust sheets to cover all affected areas. But I would certainly recommend them.

LOOK NO FURTHER ! Nick goes above and beyond the call of duty. He even went to is car to get some sealant for my taps which wasn't on the job list and he didn't charge extra for it.. in the long run has saves me a lot would have came through the back of the tiles as Nick said. He also tried to fix my shower head which he noticed had problems because he saw it when he was cleaning the bath. He is brilliant charged me less than previous people on Rated.. Thanks Nick I will be in touch again soon..

Nick did a fantastic job of tiling our bathroom. He had to work with difficult circumstances (uneven and skewed wall) but managed to work around this and leave the tiling looking great. Nick also gave other helpful advice around other jobs in the home and I would not hesitate to recommend him and we will likely be using him again for other jobs.

Prior to job - Nick was very efficient with quotations, design suggestions and provision of samples. Work completed to a high standard - very pleased with overall job. Tiling in particular is excellent as is the quality of materials, suggested and installed. Job took slightly longer than expected but Nick worked long hours towards the end to ensure completion wasn't too delayed. I would recommend Nick for installation of bathrooms.

Bathroom fitter

Nick did a great job - my bathroom threw up unexpected problems and nearly all of my deliveries were a problem (not Nick's fault). Despite this, Nick sorted out the problems for me and came up with creative solutions where needed. I'm really pleased with the results and would certainly recommend Nick.

Bathroom fitter

I was very pleased with the job Nick did. I got lots of quotes and though not the cheapest, his was very competitive. I went with Nick over others (even though cheaper) due to his clear approach from the outset, identifying potential pitfalls early and bringing some good ideas once I explained the brief. The new bathroom came in on budget and though he ran over by a day (due to problems only visible once the old tiles were removed) Nick stayed late into the evening to ensure it was completed as promised.

I have a white tiled bathroom with white grouting which looks distinctly brown in places. I need to take the old grout out and renew it. Various tools I have tried in the past have left a black deposit on the sides of the tiles making it look worse than when I started! Can you recommend a tool which will take out the old grout cleanly? I have a Dremmel tool. Is the grout removing tool for these any good?

  • Nick Stewart's Answer

You can use a sharp grout removal tool but you do run the risk of leaving marks on the tiles or worse still, you could chip the tiles. You will need to be careful.Agreed with the previous responses, use a good grout cleaner, or strong cleaning agent. Assuming the tiles are not natural stone. Use a good scrubbing brush, the harder, probably the better. Spray on the cleaning agent, agitate with the brush, Leave for a few minutes, scrub the joints and wash down with a clean white cloth, Not coloured as the dye may run. This may help. Please remember to read the instructions on the cleaning agents for recommended usage. Good luck.

Hello Vicki, ideally an electrician would be most suitable to tackle this. Good luck with the job. Regards Nick.
