I was informed by Ranson Roofing that the reason for my bedroom bay window leaking rain water was due to the previous company. Last May they replaced the bay roof but just weeks later it began to leak again. I have contacted them twice to get them to put it right and cure the leak (as guaranteed) but I have still not heard back from them (now August). £439 wasted as I believe there was nothing wrong with the original roof.

The cause of the original leak formed part of our opinion, a non-thermal expanding main roof membrane and cement pointing rather than traditional lime, trapping moisture in the front facade of the house. However, on discussion, this was not deemed to be required as per instruction by client. Our guarantee in the work carried out stands.

Original email from Ranson Roofing stating the brickwork not being the cause of the leak. We understand your points but as professional contractors asked to identify the source of water ingress to the bay window, we have identified the bay window top (badly fitted), to be the cause. Your son mentioned that the ceiling drips with water. This is not in line with your suspicion of any mortar works to the brickwork. The top of the Dutch gable has been felted so this cannot be the cause either.

A representative of Ranson Roofing called today and carried out some remedial work to hopefully cue the problem - a good down pour with a south westerly wind will be the test! Thank you.

Shortly after your last visit and running sealant around the window to roof joint we were informed by our Son that the leak had returned with the return of the bad weather. We have now moved back to the UK and the leek is much worse. My original problem remains.

I am very happy with the work carried out by Ranson Roofing and my current water ingress problem is to do with an entirely unrelated matter.
