Setting the right budget

How much should you expect to pay?

We know it's difficult to estimate how much a project will cost, that's why we've surveyed our tradesmen to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay for specific jobs. Tradesmen all across the country have contributed to the cost guides, so the costs you see are an approximate national average.

Brickwork or render

Low High
Brickwork or render £70 £130

When you are having new doors installed or replaced then you may also wish to get the brickwork or render on the front or rear of your home tidied up or refreshed as well. This can really finish the job off and set off the newly installed door you have bought. Patching of render and re-rendering, as well as pointing work or cleaning of brickwork will usually be carried out once your doors have been installed. In most cases this will be a simple task for an experienced professional.

The cost of the work will largely depend on the size of the area that needs to be worked on, as well as the current state of the brickwork or render that you need working on. If new render needs to be added from scratch then the brickwork will first need to be sealed before the render is applied, which is usually done in two coats.

Rated People surveyed 83 of our carpenters and joiners across the country to give you an idea of the approximate costs for a range of work on external doors. We also asked about internal doors.
