Glass £50 £90

Adding some new glass work to a door or the area around it can refresh the front or back of your house, or simply make your home more secure. The types of glass and the finishes you can get vary greatly, from security glass, leaded glass or stained glass to simple plain panes.

If you are replacing glass in a door then your glazier or carpenter will take that out and clean up the area before securing the new glass with putty and then cleaning it up once it is solidly in place. If you are adding glass to a door that has none already fitted then a carpenter will need to measure and cut holes for the glass to fit into. It is important that you have an experienced professional carry out this work, as cutting into the door may impact upon its strength.

Rated People surveyed 83 of our carpenters and joiners across the country to give you an idea of the approximate costs for a range of work on external doors. We also asked about internal doors.
