Setting the right budget

How much should you expect to pay?

We know it's difficult to estimate how much a project will cost, that's why we've surveyed our tradesmen to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay for specific jobs. Tradesmen all across the country have contributed to the cost guides, so the costs you see are an approximate national average.

If the hinges on your internal doors are broken or failing then you should have them replaced by a professional who can remove the faulty items and replace them with new ones. They will then be able to hang the door correctly and have it working efficiently once again.

Most hinges are inexpensive to replace and they are usually standard items that your tradesman should be able to find a close match for. They may even have a match in their toolbox or van when they call. Your tradesman will take your door down, remove the faulty hinge, clean up the spot where it is attached to the door frame and repair the screw holes if necessary. This is a quick task for any skilled tradesman to undertake, although it will take a little longer and cost more if the tradesman needs to move the setting for the hinges.

Rated People surveyed 83 of our carpenters and joiners across the country to give you an idea of the approximate costs for a range of work on internal doors. We also asked about external doors.
