Replace doorway with French windows

Replace doorway with French windows £270 £2,000

Taking down your current door and replacing the doorway with French windows is a job that can vary greatly, depending on whether you want to make the doorway larger to encompass the French windows. If this is the case then some demolition work will be required and the doorway or walls may need to be strengthened.

If you just want to use the same doorway then the job is a fairly simple one. You will need a new or adjusted doorframe and your builder will then fit the French windows to this frame. If you are replacing a window with French windows then your internal renovations expert will need to take out the current window and demolish a part of the wall below the old frame. They will also need to remove window frames and sills before proceeding.

The cost of the job overall will depend largely on the kind of French windows that you choose and the fittings and details that you add, such as door handles, locks and latches.
