Setting the right budget

How much should you expect to pay?

We know it's difficult to estimate how much a project will cost, that's why we've surveyed our tradesmen to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay for specific jobs. Tradesmen all across the country have contributed to the cost guides, so the costs you see are an approximate national average.

Low High
Walls £200 £400

If you have plain, un-papered walls then you may find that the plaster can crack over time. This can be down to your home shifting or the plaster ageing in places or being under stress. In most cases these cracks can be filled and skimmed by an experienced plasterer rather than requiring a full re-plastering job to be carried out.If you have cracks or damage to the plaster on your walls then call out a plasterer to give it the once-over. They will assess if the problem can be dealt with by skimming the walls with a thin layer of plaster. This will provide an even surface for painting or papering and will cost a lot less than removing your current plaster and replacing it. If your plaster is dry and sound then this is the most economic way of refreshing your walls.

Rated People surveyed 59 of our plasterers across the country to give you an idea of the approximate cost of plastering and skimming in your home.
