Setting the right budget

How much should you expect to pay?

We know it's difficult to estimate how much a project will cost, that's why we've surveyed our tradesmen to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay for specific jobs. Tradesmen all across the country have contributed to the cost guides, so the costs you see are an approximate national average.

Walls

Plaster only With skim finish
Low High Low High
Walls £360 £700 £460 £900

Having the walls newly plastered in your period or suburban home can provide a finish that reflects the period of its construction and take it back to how it appeared when it was first built. There are a number of finishes and styles of plastering that can be carried out to refresh your walls, which can range from rough lime plaster finishes to the smooth, shiny surfaces of modern plastering.

Your plasterer will know what will work best for the walls in your suburban or period home and can advise on how to work with the style of décor that you want, whether that is modern or period. A new plastering job on your walls will mean stripping old plaster back to the brickwork, block work, concrete or plasterboard of your walls. They will then put on a new layer of plaster, adding a flat, shined layer if you need a modern finish.

Rated People surveyed 59 of our plasterers across the country to give you an idea of the approximate cost of plastering and skimming in your home.
