|Bath panel or surround||£50||£200|
If your bath panel or surround has become damaged through an accident or simply wear and tear, then it is well worth asking a bathroom fittings expert, carpenter or tiler if they can repair it. You may find that a standard wooden or MDF bath panel is easier to replace than to repair.
Your tradesman should be able to find a decent match for your bath panel at a DIY outlet or at the original supplier or wholesaler. They may also be able to make a new panel themselves from wood or MDF, or have a carpenter do this for them.
Plumbers, bathroom fitters, carpenters and cabinet makers often work together and when you hire a skilled tradesman you also get access to his trusted subcontractors or associates. Wooden bath surrounds can also be repaired by a carpenter, although tiled areas will need to be dealt with by someone with expertise in that specialism. This may require removing, sourcing and replacing tiles that match your design.
Although if you have kept spares (which is always advisable) then your tradesman should be able to repair your bath surround with those. Other bath surround problems may be due to water getting into the surround or the area not being waterproof any more. This can usually be repaired with silicone and can be done in under an hour.
