Hi Les the formula given is correct, try it and it works everytime, waste is determined by how well the board lengths fit your room, sometimes you will get next to no wastage other times you get more. It's always best to get extra to ensure you have spare boards incase of future damage and having to go out part way through the job to get more. Ed

Les, Ed is right to a point ,however is it random wood, or engineered. Its an issue and common mistake ,where as the waste on random lengths can be more depending on the grade of the wood. any problems just contact me regards Jeff Guild Flooring (Website)

Hi Les you didn't say how many sq metres is in a pack, divide overall area by pack size and you will have answer. Add extra for wastage. Ed
