How should I contact a customer?
When you get a job lead, you can contact the homeowner in several ways:
Phone
You’ll receive the homeowner’s phone number so you can call them directly. If they don’t answer, it’s always a good idea to leave a short voicemail or send a text message to introduce yourself and let them know you’re interested in the job.
Email
You’ll also receive the homeowner’s email address, so you can reach out with a message introducing yourself, asking for more details, or arranging a time to discuss the job.
Chat
You can use the in-app chat feature through the Rated People app or when logged in on the website. It works similarly to messaging apps like WhatsApp, making it a simple and familiar way to communicate with homeowners.
WhatsApp
If the homeowner’s phone number is linked to WhatsApp, you may also choose to send a message there to introduce yourself and discuss the job.
Tips for contacting homeowners
- Reach out as soon as possible after purchasing the lead. We recommend contacting the homeowner within the first few hours, as this can significantly improve your chances of securing the work.
- Respect the homeowner’s preferred contact method if they have specified one in the job details.
- Be mindful of appropriate contact times - avoid contacting homeowners very late at night or early in the morning.
- If you don’t receive a response, consider following up using a different contact method.
Making prompt, professional contact helps create a good first impression and increases your chances of winning the job.
