I would not hesitate to use him again and would gladly highly recommend him to any friends that needed any work undertaking. I am extremely happy with the quality of the finished work . Thankyou Kevin.... you were a joy to meet and many thanks for all the work you carried out.. Definitely a 5 star rating from me.

I had a professional experience from the first point of contact to the finish of the job. Jay & Jordan are both very knowledgeable, easy to talk to and stick to the agreement. It was a straight forward job, and that's exactly how they handled it. No complications. Handed over a clean and tidy site. Have asked them to quote for another job. I have advised them to bring up their online presence to give potential customers more information about the company.

Russell and Tom are very reliable people who can offer high quality for renovation, tiling, plastering, and, like in our case, kitchen fitting. You can talk openly with them and they can also provide good advice that meets your personal budget and expectations. The job was finished on time, with no delays on their part, and they showed an excellent understanding of our needs. Definitely recommended, especially if you've never hired anyone before and need someone trustworthy for a good job!

The kitchen is often the heart of the home, where you can eat, cook, relax and entertain. Old and outdated kitchens can make cooking a chore. It’s also a wasted communal space if you’re only going in there to whip up a meal before returning to the comfort of the living room. Sprucing it up with a renovation or refit can have a huge impact on your day-to-day life. A fitted kitchen is a stylish and practical upgrade, tailored so everything is exactly where you want it.

Fitted kitchen design and installation from local specialists
What can a kitchen fitter help with?
Kitchen fitting is much more than simply swapping out appliances, cupboards and worktops though. If you’re investing time, effort, emotion and hard-earned cash into a kitchen refit, you’ll want to properly plan everything out. A refit gives you the opportunity to remodel and rearrange elements of your kitchen – for example, moving your oven, installing an island worktop or upgrading your sink to a double bowl. Work with a specialist kitchen fitter and they’ll be able to support you throughout every stage in the process, from design and planning to fitting and commissioning appliances.
Some kitchen fitters will offer both supply and fit services, while others will be happy to fit items that you purchase on your own. It’s important to check with your professional, so you know where you stand before committing to a project.
What are the main features of a fitted kitchen?
While there are plenty of custom or premium features you might consider adding to your kitchen, there’s a fairly standard list of items you’ll need to think about.
- Worktops – budget options are laminates, while real wood provides a relatively affordable but authentic finish. At the premium end of the spectrum, a granite, natural stone or composite worktop look elegant, and are also hard-wearing and resistant to heat.
- Units – beyond selecting solid wood or a cheaper veneer, your main consideration will be the colour and finish of your kitchen units. This will naturally be personal preference, but it’s worth thinking about how practical and easy to keep clean they’ll be. Some units will also feature space-saving swing-out corner cupboards or other neat features, so take a moment to investigate these options.
- Appliances – when it comes to appliances, your wallet really is the only limit. From huge American-style double fridge-freezers to integrated slimline dishwashers, there’s a solution for every size of kitchen out there.
- Flooring – traditionally kitchen floors are tiled, but many people opt for wooden flooring now, which isn’t so cold to touch. If your budget can stretch, underfloor heating is a premium feature you may want to consider too.
The key stages in a kitchen refit
Every kitchen is unique, and the exact stages or phases involved in your refit will vary according to the work that needs to be carried out. Typically, though, your renovation will feature:
- Planning and design – understanding how to make the best use of the space available, as well as what you want your kitchen to do for you.
- Removal of your old kitchen – carefully and methodically removing old appliances, units, worktops and flooring, before preparing the room for the fitting of the new kitchen.
- Electrics and plumbing – this step may not be necessary if you’re replacing appliances or features in the same locations, but typically even the most minor alterations will require plugs or light fittings to be moved or altered.
- Fitting new units and worktops – units are typically fitted first, followed by your new worktops. They’ll need to be properly secured using appropriate load-bearing fittings, and this is where the value of an expert can be felt. When fitting your new worktop, your tradesperson will also install your sink.
- Tiling or laying a new floor – with your units in place, your floor can be tiled (or wooden floor fitted).
- Installing new appliances – the last major job will be installing and commissioning your new appliances. Most of these will be fairly straightforward, but gas and certain electric appliances will need to be fitted by Gas Safe and NICEIC-registered professionals.
Other kitchen fitter FAQ's
How much does it cost to fit a new kitchen?
On average, the labor cost to fit a kitchen ranges from £1,000 for a small room to over £10,000 for a large space, depending entirely on the project's scale. Your total expenses will vary based on the quality of your appliances, the complexity of the fixtures, and whether you need additional services like old kitchen removal and post-refit decorating. Choosing high-end materials or incorporating custom specialist features will also increase the final installation price. Read our breakdown on costs here.
What qualifications and insurance should my kitchen fitter have?
While there is no single overarching kitchen fitting qualification, your installer must be Gas Safe and NICEIC registered if the project involves gas or electrical appliance connections. It is highly recommended to choose an experienced tradesperson with relevant City & Guilds certifications in carpentry or plumbing, alongside active public liability insurance to protect your property. Additionally, ensure they offer a workmanship warranty, which can range from 5 to 20 years, independent of your appliances' manufacturer guarantees.
What questions should I ask before hiring a kitchen fitter?
Before signing a contract, you should ask if the fitter provides design and planning assistance, and request a portfolio of their previous kitchen installations. It is equally important to clarify whether they will handle the work themselves or hire sub-contractors, and confirm if they offer a workmanship warranty. Finally, always ask if they can legally dispose of your old kitchen and appliances so you aren't left managing the waste yourself.

CALL ON YOUR LOCAL KITCHEN COMPANY TO SUPPORT YOUR NEW KITCHEN PROJECT Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. We love talking about new kitchens so please do get in touch to discuss your project. If you are planning on buying a new kitchen, let us guide you through the process. Our team have been working in the kitchen industry for years creating thousands of kitchen designs and transforming kitchen areas for our customers. Many of our customers tell us that selecting a new kitchen can be overwhelming. There are so many options, and the traditional kitchen showrooms can be a daunting prospect. This is why at A Class Kitchens, we work differently to the norm. Here’s how: Our designers are kitchen designers and not salespeople. Of course, we want you to buy an A Class Kitchen, but our priority is to deliver your perfect kitchen design. In addition, you will have a 20 day period from when we provide you with a quote, to decide if you want to proceed with your new kitchen. No pressure, we want to give you the time and all the information you need to make your decision! We do not run from a showroom. Our designers work on a flexible basis from home. We have always operated this way, even pre Covid as our company promotes a work life balance for our staff. This means that we do not have the overheads of a showroom and therefore, even though we offer premium quality kitchens, our costs are only 10%- 25% higher than Highstreet kitchen companies. All our consultations are completed in the comfort of your home, at a time to suit your needs. Many of our customers have difficulty visualising their new kitchen. If this, is you, we offer a virtual reality viewing experience where you can see and walk through your new kitchen using our VR headset. We have an installations team who can fully project manage your kitchen, including extensions and building work if you have a larger project. Our customers mean the world to us, and we try to help make the process of buying a new kitchen easier by offering boxes to help you pack your kitchen, a portable oven while your kitchen is out of action, and a full kitchen clean on our project managed kitchen installations.
Would definitely recommend them - all the tradesmen they used were very professional - from start to finish we are very satisfied with the service given - important point was they listened to any alterations or comments that we suggested and without hesitation took them on board

If I could add 10 stars, I would. Martyn,Russ and their team have done a First class job on my kitchen, at a reasonable all in price. All completed in about 10 working days. Martyn came and prices my job and I thought I had a good idea as to design, however his experience guided me to amendment that would enhance and improve the layout. A start date was agreed and right from the start everyone arrives on time and completed a FULL days work and no one left BEFORE the site was clean and swept. THANK YOU.

Welcome to SDL PKB, A Business Proudly Built on Customer Satisfaction. As the Proud owner of such a business id like to express my beliefs in what make a great business but also as to why I have these beliefs. Growing up in North West London my grandparents came from large families, with many brother and sisters both my ( English and a tad Irish ) Nan and Grandad had nothing, Thankfully my Nans family got into fruit and veg and had all the fruit and veg stalls in Kilburn for a bit, my Nan having one of them advised my Grandad to give up painting and focus on Fruit and Veg. Through hard work and determination coupled with being good with people that very stall ( next to what was woolworths now Iceland ) meant my mum and aunt could benefit and have the things my Nan and Grandad couldn't. My ( Greek Cypriot ) Dad was taught the skill by my Grandparents as he was my father and would go on to Make a successful Fruit and Veg shop in Golders Green in which I'm extremely proud of. Working in this shop as you would go into it on the right used to be ' A business built on customer satisfaction '. You see it isn't the building game but it's all the same to me, we serve the customers and we leave them Satisfied Every Single time. That's the name of the game. My Grandad would later teach me how to paint and my Nan would teach me how to work with oil based paints and the rest is history. To me personally when a customer decides to proceed with SDL PKB it always fills me with a rush of Pride, Joy, Greatfullness and Enthusiasm. Never will I take a customer of they're precious home for Granted. When you proceed with SDL PKB I know full well what's your getting but you can only trust until the job is complete then you know we're not ' all mouth ' We don't just talk the talk. We walk the walk. Paul our Sales representative/ Project Manager is a friendly extremely knowledgeable individual who I'm truly proud to work with and forever greatful for his dedication to our customers who mesn the world to us. I speak purely from the Heart, my business was made to provide for my family and the future of my darling daughter who I truly adore. My Grandad.... I couldn't express to you what he means to me, no one knew SDL PKB would take off like it did and he went just whilst it started to lift off but I know he's watching down proud. Kind Regards Shayne
Beeby Construction provides a personal yet professional service
This was just a quote for a loft conversion which was already there, I needed to know if it was up to current day regulations. this tradesman went out on the same day and was very efficient. He e-mail me the next morning with a run down of the repairs and costings. I would definitely rate him.
I'm an experienced builder and cover all areas of building work including loft conversions, extensions & refurbishments. My company's aim is to provide a professional, reliable honest service. Every job big or small is done to exceptionally high standard.
The team accommodated some additional changes and unforseen jobs and any issues that came up were addressed as quickly as possible. The team were polite and curteous at all times. We have just requested some additional works with this company.
