Make sure to ask your driveway installer what licences and insurance they have before you hire them. All removal companies that use lorries need to have drivers who have a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) that qualifies them to drive large vehicles.
Lorries or vans that carry over 3,500kg require a goods vehicle operators’ licence, so make sure you ask if you’re planning on moving a lot of items. Though it isn’t a requirement, you can look out for removers who are members of the British Association of Removers, which promotes professional excellence in the removal industry.
How many years of experience do you have?
Knowing how much experience your removal company has will allow you to pick a tradesperson who you are confident has sufficient expertise to carry out a high quality job. However if I need to hire a LWB/ XLWB the rough rate is £45-£50 per hour. With a minimum charge of £100.00. Please note, I can price the job as a one off quote accurately.
