Home Maintenance / Repair
The work was done well and he even picked up a few things from B&Q for me. Unfortunately when he plumbed in the sink he plumbed the the hot water to the cold tap and vice versa. Also, he left a saw mark in my Ercol kitchen table with a bit of his blood which he never told me about. But then neither did I. All things considered I would hire the man again and have no issue recommending him for other jobs.
Fitted Bedrooms / Wardrobes
Helpful, reliable and efficient. Did what was asked and made useful suggestions.
Garage Conversion
Having seen chris within 24 hours of making initial contact i was impressed straight away with his positive attitude and general manor. He gave an impression of competancy and seemed to share my enthusiasm for the garage conversion i had planned. He quoted within 24 hours and was £750 cheaper than a previous quote and within my planned budget. The work was started on the Thursday and finished the follwoing frixday with progress being made every day. his sub contract plasterer was excellent and both men made every effort to minimise mess and disturbance. the work was completed on time and on budget and Chris even fitted a sink for the price quoted even though this was no on the original quote. Although this could be because i gave him a load of chocolate! :-) Would recomend chris to anyone looking to do a project big or small and i would happily have him back to project manage any other work i needed doing.
Wooden Decking
Hard working and reliable, did a great job with decking and fence. Made a massive difference to our garden. Would definitely recommend and use again.
Wooden Doors - Internal
Chris and Joe have been 1st Class for us. Started the job on time, and even though there were problems caused by other trades, they got through it cheerfully and to a high standard. In mind of decorating trades to follow, miters on skirting boards and architraves were left very tight requiring virtually no preparation prior to painting. The 4 new doors were not without their challenges but once again the boys came up trumps and everything is top notch. We'll certainly be having the team back in October for a couple of days and would highly recommend them for top quality workmanship, excellent value for money and a couple of guys who it was a pleasure to have around the place. We have continued to use Chris and Joe for various joinery jobs since they first came to our home last summer. I posted a very positive and honest rating for the boys who were brilliant. They have done various joinery jobs over recent months. The last job a couple of weeks ago caused a dispute between us which was almost resolved. We agreed to disagree and as a gesture of good will Chris offered to return and re-work some items FOC. I've since sent him pics of a screw they'd accidentally driven through a central heating pipe. I did NOT ask him to cover the cost of repair. Chris would not accept that it could have been them insinuating that perhaps another tradesmen (or myself) had made the mistake and that I knew he couldn't have done it. That isn't the case. Chris has now gone back on his word to return. His good will has evaporated. Having paid him his asking price in full, I will now have to pay another joiner to come along and do the work Chris had intended to do FOC. Chris & Joe are a very capable team but if something does go wrong Chris seems unable to admit that a mistake has been made or that things could have been done better. My advice would be to make sure you snag the job and resolve any issues before paying him...
