Carpenter / Joiner

Job was a nightmare from start to finish. Chris quoted the job without even looking at the property. Work started late and quality was shoddy. Half the fence panels were installed upside down. The bushes that were quoted to be removed were not removed. Was told one particular area had been cleared, but on inspection had not been. Several bags of garden waste left behind. Return visit was agreed AFTER my numerous complaints. Ended up getting a substantial refund. Steer clear.

Gardener / Landscape gardeners

Christopher is an absolutely amazing guy. I cannot recommend him enough now to family/friends, kind and friendly with a brilliant attitude to achieve the job to a high standard. He completed the job over 2 working days and with his partner Molly they worked extremely hard throughout the days with super enthusiasm. Price wise I would say he is very reasonable and his quality of work speaks for itself. So pleased with the service! Thank you so much. Christopher & Molly it’s been an absolute pleasure xx

Gardener / Landscape gardeners

Chris and his team removed our old shed and installed a new one, as well as fitting all new fencing panels, cutting back some overgrown bushes and removing all of the garden waste. Chris is very polite and communicative, and when a minor issue did crop up, he managed to get it resolved extremely quickly and efficiently.

Carpenter / Joiner

I cannot speak highly enough of Christopher Negus. The charm, amiability and promptness of Christopher and his assistant impressed me from the start. The craftmanship, effort, skill and energy with which the project was handled was impressive, The charge was very reasonable and the site was left absolutely spotless. Should I need further work to be carried out there is only one person I will contact: Christopher Negus. Five stars are not high enough to rate my approval.

Handyperson

I have lived in my house for 28 years, so have had a number of different tradesmen doing work throughout that time, and I must say that CLN, Chris and his work partner have been the best that I have ever met - professional, friendly, hardworking, dedicated, knowledgeable, skilled with high standards of work and tidy. If you have found their details, you do not need to look any further. They did a fantastic job for me and I will most definitely use them again.

Handyperson

Christopher is ultra professional and polite right from first contact. His standard of work looks excellent. Access to our shed roofs was almost impossible, most builders would have given up, but Christopher found a way to complete the job and it is now water tight and looking fab for the winter. So good we've asked Christopher to quote for some other jobs and would certainly recommend him to others.

Marie Higham's question
Wed 31 Jul 2019 19:47pm

What is the going rate for a fence installation

  • Christopher Negus's Answer
    Sun 4 Aug 2019 0:5am

Hi Marie, The cost for supply and instillation of a new fence can vary depending on a variety of different factors. For example the materials you wish to use, the length of the fence that you would like installed, the material of the fence posts (Ie.. concrete or timber) the access to your property and space for works. I would recommend posting an advert on the main rated people homepage including as much of the above listed details as possible and you will receive a few different quotations from there. - Christopher CLN Maintenance and Development

Nick King's question
Sat 3 Aug 2019 17:16pm

Hi, I wanted to find out, I have seen a single detached garage for sale and wondered what it would take if I bought and converted it. 18'1" narrowing to 17'2" x 9'6" Its freehold

  • Christopher Negus's Answer
    Sat 3 Aug 2019 23:51pm

Hi Nick, The overall cost and procedure with a conversion project such as this is entirely dependent on the specification and intent for this space. Of course any additions or alterations to the property, including a change of usage will require planning permission and will have to be completed to the standard expected under building regulations, even if you are not changing the overall structural complex of the building. Being freehold, you of course are free to covert this space to whatever usage you see fit within reason, but this must be approved before hand as you run the risk of having an order for demolition if you don't. Regarding costs for the conversion, this can vary depending on the quality of the existing building and what you are planning to do with the space. For example if the roof of the property is asbestos, you will have to pay for the licenced removal and disposal of this waste before you can do anything and this in itself can be very costly. If you require services in your new garage, you will also need to obtain all of the relevant permissions and grants which may include causing damage to public property such as paths or walkways in order to run the services which of course will have to be repaired and paid for. Finally, if you are planning on converting this property into a business premises, there are a variety of different regulations and procedures you will have to go through insuring that this area is a safe and practical area for works ie.. fire regulations. I would recommend firstly speaking to your local authority as they can give you a rough idea if what you are planning is possible or if it will be refused by the planning office point blank, and secondly paying for a builder or surveyor to come out and provide you with a full breakdown of costs and processes if you decide to purchase the property, Please bare in mind that most builders will charge for their time with this particular quotation, as you have not purchased the property and are just looking for a report to see if this is a viable option, much the same as if you were to hire a surveyor to offer a building report. I hope you have found this helpful and best of luck with your project. - Christopher CLN Maintenance and Development
