Mick and his partner were excellent. A real help moving furniture and making sure I was 100% happy with the work. I was happy to have them in my home, they were respectful and easy to get on with, and hoovered up after they left! Would definitely recommend.

Painter and decorator

Perfect job done by Mick. Turned up on time, finished on time, did a great job (especially considering the state of a previous attempt by someone else) and even cleaned and tidied up after completion. All in all, very happy and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Mick and Martin were great - the room looks super, and they were incredibly helpful. I had chosen wallpaper that was unsuitable for the room, and they not only explained the type of wallpaper that was needed but even showed me it at the shop. They kept me informed through every stage and I am really pleased

Mick and the guys have done a great job for us. They were very reliable and even managed to get to work in the snow. We were on a tight schedule so this was very important to us. They also listened to any concerns we had and made any changes we asked for. Good reliable workers.

's question
Tue 31 Dec 2013 17:38pm

I have just had my walls painted with crown matt emulsion. When I clean dirty marks off with a clean damp sponge the paint comes off and can see the original paint underneath. Could you please tell me why this is happening. Thank you

You need to put vinyl matt emulsion on you walls that can be wiped down not just matt emulsion, or better still washable matts like dulux endurance or wickes durable which are actually scrubable Regards Mick Emery Emery Painters & Decorators

's question

I have recently had several rooms newly skimmed which I intend to paint. However have received conflicting advice as to whether should use "watered down" pva prior to painting as it will prevent the paint cracking. Advice please : "to pva or not to pva that is the question".

  • Michael Emery's Answer

I use a mixture of pva/emulsion for miss coat before applying to further coats of a good quality vinyl matt emulsion, alternatively Wickes do a very good new plaster paint. Do not put silk paint directly on to new plaster Mick Emery Emery Painters Decorators
