call me stupid but you fill wood with woodfiller . if you use caulk to fill holes it sinks i wood get your joiner back as it sounds like he doesn't know what his on about .as for the door linings they are pre built . I would never seal a bath with caulk but if you clean your bath with bleech over 2 years im sure the silicon would turn to a caulk substance
