Setting the right budget

How much should you expect to pay?

We know it's difficult to estimate how much a project will cost, that's why we've surveyed our tradesmen to give you an idea of how much you should expect to pay for specific jobs. Tradesmen all across the country have contributed to the cost guides, so the costs you see are an approximate national average.

Bi-fold doors

Low High
Bi-fold doors £150 £400

Bi-fold doors can be a great space-saving alternative to sliding or conventional doors, so if you have them already you will probably want to replace them with similar or identical doors. Your tradesman will be able to do this quickly and efficiently, simply taking the old doors down from their fittings and hinges before installing new ones. Your carpenter or joiner should be able to use the track from the old doors if this is still in good condition.

Taking up the old track and installing a new one will obviously cost a little more but this may give a better-looking and more enduring finish to the job. Once the doors are installed then your tradesman may paint or stain the doors or paint other parts of the room to match the new doors and refresh the décor.

Rated People surveyed 83 of our carpenters and joiners across the country to give you an idea of the approximate costs for a range of work on internal doors. We also asked about external doors.

Please note these prices are average, do not include materials and are offered as guidance only, to help you budget when posting a job on Rated People. For a free quote tailored to your specific requirements, please contact our local carpenters and joiners.
