Worried about an extension being built on bour house where the bricks are 'butted up ' to the original house. will there be a risk of damp in the seam?

if it is the external wall and matching existing there are a few ways to stop damp , you can continue the cavity if it is cavity walling , or you will put vertical damp in the correct positions and also horizontal damp as well .
