Internal wall pointing

Posted by Will Rainford, on
I have removed plaster from the internal walls down to the bricks (upstairs, front, back and party walls). These walls look quite uneven with some cracking/loosening of the pointing, including a couple of stepped cracks. There is also a couple of points that seem to have been retrospectively filled in with a stone and foam. These walls are around 100 years old, so a degree of imperfection would be expected. What I want to know is whether it is advisable to have internal walls repointed, possibly with some helical bars added, or whether this could just be a plastering job straight away?

What would you like to do now?
