Top quarter of side of house needs repointing as its leaking

Hi, The side of our house goes to a point at the top of the roof (ie its not flat side of house), there is a window about 3/4 of the way up which is at the top of the stairs. Recently when it rains, the top of the window is leaking in, and also the wall above it and just below is showing signs of wetness/wet spots. I have been up to look and a lot of the concrete inbetween the bricks is missing so i think basically the top 1/4 of the side of the house needs repointing. How much do you think this will cost to repoint and do you think ill need scaffolding? thanks
