Pebbledash

Posted by Una Doyle, on
I have bought a mid terrace house on a street where all the other houses are lovely red brick. I have spoken to a neighbour who has lived on the street since the 60's and she said that back then a family bought this house and the house next door and had it pebbledashed. Does that indicate that it was a matter of personal taste/choice and that the probability is that the brickwork would be fine underneath or does it depend on the quality of the pebbledash job that was carried out? Thank you, Una

If the building is constructed of brick and has been dashed over then any attempt to remove the dash will almost definitely result in damaged brickwork underneath.
