I'm struggling to decide whether or not to pay for a 6ft sq extension to the rear of my house (1930s). The plan is to knock down the existing load bearing wall btw the dining room and kitchen to open it out into an open plan kitchen diner. However the kitchen is currently 1.4 ft longer than the dining room.
Therefore we would need a small 6ft sq extension on the rear of the house to make the back wall flus. I've been quoted about 7-8k to do this. Is it worth the money to do this, or should I just open up the room and leave the wall at the back of the house?
8k seems a lot for such a small space - however would the 'finished look' be a better use of space and ultimately sell the house?
