My new extension

Posted by Carl Russell, on
I have a newly built extension and I notice that a lot of the bricks have hairline cracks on the face of them Im worried about water ingress and future frost damage. I am concerned that the bricks are substandard and possibly have not been fired properly how can find out ?pictures can be sent

Mr Russell Some bricks do have airline cracks in them but this should not be a problem, if you are concerned with the brickwork there are a couple of things to remedy this you could have the bricks removed and new one replaced or you can treat the external walls with damp seal which you can pick up at your local DIY store, a couple or three coats should put you at ease.
