Blocking Air Brick

Posted by O A, on
Hello. I have an air brick around 7 ft high in a bedroom (no gas appliances) which is currently letting cold air and noise into the room. Can I block it up? Which tradesman can I ask to block it? Are there any other alternatives available for the air brick?

I would strongly recommend not sealing the vent as this may cause a future issue with condensation and Mould growth due to the lack of cross ventilation. I would recommend filling the hole with a filter medium to prevent the draught but still allow the damp air to escape through atmospheric pressure. The material I use is RS Pro Filter Media G3 Grade , 20 x 1m 14mm available from R S components. Regards Jon Davis
