Hi The cost implications are mainly materials based and later insurance based. If attached everything is much cheaper as there will be less materials involved. This said labour costs maybe higher due to tying into existing supplies. If detached the only real benefit would be the ease of build and a lot less construction work passing through your home. As for insurances the detachment would most likely increase insurances. Hope this helps Scott
