Single storey extension

I’m planning to Put an extension on the back of my house which will be a new kitchen /diner and then an additional room for a play room. It will be going out 3metres (off the original rear wall) But it’s the length I’m unsure about. The current house is 6metres long and the rear extension will be 9 metres long. Will this be permitted or will I need planning ? Thank you
