Steel lintel above doorway exposed

Posted by Alexandra , on
Hi, We recently had some work done on our flat, including converting an existing window into a doorway with window above it from our kitchen into the side return. This involved inserting a steel lintel above the new doorway and window. The work has been done and we're happy with the result apart from the fact that we can see the lintel sticking out above the doorway from the outside of the property. Is this normal? If not, is there any way to fix this? Or do we have to completely remove and replace the lintel? Appreciate any advice given!

Hi Alexandra, I hope you are well. Was that steel beam designed by an engineer or just installed by the builder ? Please send me few photos through the email and I will try to help you to get this sorted. Kind Regards, Ion
