Hello Hema, As Alex said, the cost of opening up the space under a staircase can vary due to the size and scope of the project as well as the access to the job. Perhaps you would be well advised to measure the space you have in mind, take photos of it and consider carefully what you want to achieve. That done, post your request for quotations on Rated People, probably under Carpenters, with measurements and photos. Be realistic when you quote your budget, fewer trades people are likely to respond if they think your budget is unrealistic. Maybe if your stated budget was up to £1000.00 but you made it clear that you have indicated this budget because it is one of the Rated People budget bands and that in reality you are looking for professional advice on your options and the associated costs you would attract interest from the tradespeople in your area. I hope the above helps. All the best, Jim

Hi Hema. Thanks very much for your question! The cost of this type of job can vary as it depends on the size and scope of the project. You'll be looking to speak with a carpenter about the job. We have a handy blog post written all about under stair storage, which you might find useful! Read it here: ratedpeople.com/blog/ideas-for-the-space-under-your-stairs/ Hope this helps!
