Timber frame extension to existing masonry cavity wall bungalow

I have been researching how to connect new timber frame to masonry wall construction. I'm going to hammer fix using an an additional stud but need to know whether i need an insulated vertical dpc cut in a full depth slot in the external masonry skin or by continuing the breather membrane, battens and cladding past the junction, and on the outside the external skin of masonry, whether i can do away with this. I can also provide an additional lap of breather membrane so that it forms a 'barrier' between timber stud and masonry if it means i can do away with the vertical dpc. I have a sketch for this saved as a PDF but not sure if i can upload it on here.
Any advice please
