Hi, I used a trader to finish an outbuilding ( foundations and brickwork already complete, trader instructed to put on roof, install electrics, guttering, render, plastering, decorating) from rated people without a quote through the website, it was a direct quote. He took my money for materials and labour, gave a 2 week job timescale but 10 weeks later he hasn’t finished the job and now will not return calls although I don’t have materials on site and I have paid for work not yet completed, how can I warn others so this does happen to them? He also states the job was labour only so does not need to tidy his mess which is all over the garden including Stanley blades left to rust in garden. I can provided email evidence and photos if required as he will not answer phone to me since November and last arrived on site before Christmas to collect some tools for ‘work at home’ and disappeared.
