Hi. Want to get old mantle piece and base taken out (very tacky, should be easy enough) and fireplace made good, as a few irregular bricks, and then plastered inside. Keep being told budget is too low. Originally had it at £1000, but then upped to £2000. Surely it cannot be that expensive?! The main bit of work would be taking sorting the irregular bricks out and plastering, can’t see that costing that much!
