Whether or not I can remove part of an internal wall (whether or not it is load bearing)? I want to create an open plan kitchen diner, but without taking out the entire wall separating the rooms currently (essentially leaving a "U" or "L" ish shape). How do I determine if the wall is load bearing or not and if it is, how much of it can I remove without the need for a lintel (or similar) and, therefore, building control?
