I had a tarmac driveway done four weeks ago however when it rains I have noticed pools of water in places. I have contacted the contractor who said this is completely normal & is due to the oil in the tar & will resolve itself in four months time with wear & tear. I have had a tarmac drive done on a previous home which is a terraced house similar to this one & never had any similar issues. The contractor is suggesting an open graded tar may have been better but I’m thinking it’s the way it’s been laid not the type of tar used, although he is also saying I’m being petty. Any professional advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you
