window cill has warped and expanded - mdf 1 metre wide by 9" would this be a brick / pointing problem, cannot see anything wrong outside.

If its external (window sill) it should never be MDF, if it is internal (window board) it should be moisture resistant MDF if there is any risk of cold damp air getting to it from the cavity Other opinions welcome - Mark S?? What do you think?
