Hi Steve the first thing to try is remove the handles and insert a screwdriver into the latch, try turning the latch and see if it will turn enough to open. If this doesn't work you can remove the door stop ( if they are loose ones or chisel a section away by the latch if the frame is rebated) on the frame and open the latch. Hope this helps. Ed.
