Engineered flooring

Posted by Ann Donnelly, on
Does 18mm engineered flooting require to be glued at joints. Fixed to 22mm chipboard.

Hi Ann it really depends on whether it's a click system or a normal tongue and groove which would require glued joints. I would recommend you follow manufacturers instructions which should give you all the information you need to install and for a suitable underlay. Hope this helps. Ed.

Hi Ann ,there are different ways to put engineered flooring down floating ,glue down, secret nail if the flooring is a click system then no just a good quality underlay,if it is tongue/groove then i would be secret nailing as this is a cheaper method than gluing down, and i would run a bead of pva glue on the ends,DD3 wood glue .Hope this helps, regards john, select floors
