Hi James the easiest way to do it is to remove the handles and then clamp a pair of vise grips to the cylinder ( from top to bottom) move the grips up and down and this will snap the cylinder in two. Withdraw the pieces and make sure you take out the cam (black circular piece) from inside the lock mechanism. Will take a minute or two, alot easier than drilling. Hope this helps.Ed.

Try drilling the barrel with a 7mm masonry drill it will demolish the barrel & the lot will come out no problem
