Hello Christine,by floating you mean no visible brackets etc? It is possible but it all depends on the strength of the wall you want to fix the shelves to. I wouldn't recommend fixing to plasterboard alone there would need to be a brick or block substrate to fix to. Using P type wall bolts should do the trick. Cheers Ian
