Timber joist replacement in 150yr old cellar

Survey identified up to 11 timber joists in cellar potentially decayed so need replacement or repair - some previously spliced but evidence of decay still present - plus woodworm/protective treatment. Survey suggest £5K is this remotely accurate as difficult to get quotes until have all the details living in the property but need idea pre-purchase. Thanks

Hi S £5K sounds a lot of money to replace 11 joists and spray the existing joists, does this include any floorboard replacement and plastering? It's always difficult to say without seeing the job, but I would say if you allowed £2K you would cover all eventualities. You could always ask the present owners to get quotes for the work required. Ed
