Hi Glen it's difficult to say how it's joined at roof without seeing it, by cutting it into sections as you remove it you should be able to see how it's fixed. You can always split the last section if the fixings are difficult to remove. Ensure you prop the porch before you start and take measurement of existing post for use on the new one. Ed
