Hi Shirley a carpenter would be best to look at the joists but there are probably other issues if you have damp on the ceiling below, they may be able to point these out to you also. Ed

The bathroom floor in my flat that I rent out seems to be sinking! The ceiling beneath has collapsed through damp also. I presume I need someone to look at the timber joists under my bathroom floor but im not sure which category to post my job in?
