Plaster part of wall and replace skirting boards

Hi Liz, a good decorator should be able to make good your wall and skirting using the appropriate fillers which would probably end up saving you money. If you're certain that the wall needs plastering and the skirting replaced then I would do them in that order. Remove the damaged skirting, replanted the wall the fit new skirting and decorate.
